When I was first deciding to write a book, I had a few solid ideas but ultimately chose a non-fiction self-help about job loss. It wasn't easy to write – not that it was a hard task but it was difficult revisiting a time in my career that I was still recovering from. But looking back, the process was necessary to heal and I was able to help a lot of people. Here are three types of impactful stories that you, too, can tell.
Success stories are awesome because they give people hope and inspiration. Think back to the one thing that you kicked butt at and allows others be able to learn from your story.
Do you have a skill or talent that you can share with the world? The online learning economy is booming. Anything skill from a learning a computer program to taking up a new a craft or hobby is worth putting together in a book.
These are the most difficult to write but the most impactful. People can relate to struggle because it's the one thing that we all have in common. You can build an emotional connection with your audience more easily and effectively.
Everyone has a story to tell (yes, even you). What will yours be?
